Pfizer PULLS request to FDA for 6-months to under 5 yrs COVID vaccine authorization
Hallelujah!
It's hard not to celebrate. I know a LOT of people made their voices heard and told FDA committee members that nothing but a NO was acceptable when voting.
(Well maybe a hell no. That was okay for me…)
Looks like they’re waiting to get the results from dose number three before officially requesting authorization now.
Of course this reason makes no sense, since it was already known that two doses didn’t work. This was supposed to be a “rolling” authorization, in which they would authorize two doses that didn’t work with the hopes that a third would.
So what suddenly changed?
Perhaps too many people made it clear that they know it's all a total sham.
Or perhaps they heard RFK Jr. and Children’s Health Defense loud and clear when they sent a letter yesterday threatening legal action. It read, in part,
"We are writing to put you on notice that should you recommend this pediatric EUA vaccine to children under five years old, CHD is poised to take legal action against you.
“CHD will seek to hold you accountable for recklessly endangering this population with a product that has little, no, or even negative net efficacy but which may put them, without warning, at risk of many adverse health consequences, including heart damage, stroke and other thrombotic events and reproductive harms."
I'm not sure what it was, but something made them think twice.
This is great news, but the war is not over. They will try again.
Perhaps it will be when less attention is on COVID-related issues (i.e., truckers, mask mandates, etc.) Perhaps they’ll even change who's on the committee.
Who knows. All I do know is they need authorization in this age group for liability reasons.
So we need to remain on high alert.
And we'll have to join together again when the time comes and insist they vote NO. “Give me an H! Give me an E!… Give me an L…”
But for now, we can take a quick break to celebrate. Because this truly is a big victory for the smallest among us.
As I understand, they are deferring until more data is available, perhaps April (?). Yes it’s a nice (partial) victory. (Yay!) We have to do this all over again when they reschedule (or resubmit). They may even decide to skip the committee as they have done before, I believe. Seems to me a tactic to try again later when they think folks will be paying less attention. Thanks for the quick writeup!
